Team Fantastic Crash
While the published build of the game does not include every story written for the game, I've made documentation and scripts that focus on the teams the player battles in the game. The documentation describes individual characters on the team, their motives for fighting in the competition, the chemistry they have with the player characters, the motive the player characters have for interacting with them, and the narrative themes that could be delved into when writing the team's narrative.

Megmeg
Tomboyish, sporty, and brash, the Magical Princess Knight Megmeg is a magical girl warrior who fights evil in the name of the Magical Kingdom Mugamagika. She fought through many hardships as a Magical Princess Knight throughout middle school. Now a high school girl in her late teens, she is very confident in her femininity and takes pride in everything that she is--a scrappy fighter who loves cute, frilly things. Megmeg is actually a construct based off an anime character born into reality from the wish of CrashTengu.

Kurenai
CrashTengu Kurenai is to be appointed the sole protector of a her homeland in the deliberately obscured civilization on top Mt. Ultra. Although she has trained for the occasion her entire life, she is still insecure about living the life of a warrior. The stress of taking on such a huge responsibility led Kurenai to making a wish at a shrine for someone to help ease her burden. The result came in the form of her favorite character from childhood, Magical Princess Knight Megmeg, coming to life. Kurenai has a confident front when in a public setting, however her favorite childhood heroine is able to see through her facade and isn’t afraid to call her out on it and expose her soft underbelly.

SwordJr. & Master Swordsmanship
“Fiction isn’t real in the presence of magic, SwordJr.”
SwordJr. and Swordsmanship are weary of Megmeg’s identity as an anime girl brought to life. Swordsmanship recognizes her from her original show created in the 1980’s. There was a character in that show based off of him and he would watch it for the episodes he appeared. SwordJr. recognizes her for the newer iteration of the show made in the early 2000’s. Li loved the show when they were children and seeing the character makes SwordJr. feel nostalgic for the Saturday mornings spent watching the anime. The sword boys want to figure out if Megmeg is based off of 80’s Megmeg or 2000’s Megmeg and end up getting entangled in CrashTengu Kurenai’s coming of age development.

SwordJr. and Kurenai
SwordJr and Kurenai can connect on their intensive training practices. They further their relationship based on the sense that they had to grow up quickly. Kurenai had to quickly become the protector of her people. SwordJr. had to learn how to take care of himself since he is an orphan.
Both characters can exude an aura of edgy coolness but SwordJr. can break Kurenai’s facade through his oblivious earnest statements that appeal to Kurenai’s hidden girlish sensibilities.

SwordJr. and Megmeg
Ando notices through talking to Megmeg that Li has a lot of mannerisms that are reminiscent of Megmeg’s character. Ando can audibly hear the excess of question marks and exclamation points in her speech. Unconsciously, Ando might go out of his way to start a conversation with Megmeg because her presence is so much like his beloved friend and he finds a lot of comfort with her. Megmeg likes how tough Ando is, but notices that he talks to her with a strange familiarity. Perhaps he even accidentally called her “Li”, sort of like how a student might accidentally refer to a teacher as “Mom”.
Megmeg is more likely to expose cracks in Ando’s character than Ando is going to find flaws in her since Megmeg is the result of years of character growth seen in her TV show.

Competition Motives
On a surface level, Team Fantastic Crash have entered the competition to test CrashTengu’s skills in combat. Megmeg’s plan is to use the competition as a way to allow Kurenai to live out the social life that she didn’t get to have as a Tengu training to protect a mountain. Megmeg will lead Kurenai through social situations like her first date.
